KNOW YOUR PRESIDENTS PRE-SCHOOL STYLE

Anybody who knows me should also know that I love History. I consider myself and expert and I love discussing history with others.

Today my oldest daughter learned about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln in pre-school, so we had a chat about these two historic figures. This is probably one of those conversations I will remember and cherish even well into my old age.

So Anabelle, what did you learn about Washington today?

He died.

Anything else?

He was married before he died.

Did he do anything cool?

He killed a lot of people in red suits.

Did he chop down any trees?

No that was Lincoln.

Are you sure?

Yes.

Did Lincoln chop down a cherry tree?

No. He chopped down lots of little trees with no leaves.

Was Washington ever in the army?

Yes, he wore a blue suit.

Tell me what you learned about Lincoln?

An actor put a gun to his head that was sharp and killed him. His wife was so surprised.

Did Lincoln have a beard?

No.

Are you sure he didn’t have a beard like Grandpa Randy?

No dad. He didn’t have a beard like grandpa or yours.

Was Lincoln tall?

No. He wasn’t tall like you and mommy.

Did Lincoln wear a blue suit?

No he wore a black shirt suit.

Did he fight anybody in a grey suit?

No.

Did he ever go to a place called Gettysburg?

No because he was dead.

Was Lincoln a liar?

No, he only said good stuff.

Were Washington and Lincoln Presidents?

Yes. Washington was the first and Lincoln was second.

Are you sure Lincoln wasn’t the 16th?

No because he was after the second guy.

So Lincoln was the third president?

No, he was the second daddy.
